International Symposium, University of Milan DESIGN + LIFE Interconnessioni

 

Since the 1960s, creativity in both Italy and Japan has been attracting and merging with each other in the field of design, creating new expressions.

At the international symposium "Japan Design, The Art of Crossing Borders" held at the University of Milan, Italy, in October 2022, a dialogue was held between designers of different generations from Italy and Japan. Various discoveries were made as they discussed the design perspectives cultivated from their respective careers, as well as lifestyle changes and global issues caused by the Corona Disaster. This event will be a spin-off of the same event.

The participating designers are deeply rooted in their own culture and environment, yet moving forward with a curious eye on foreign cultures and the world. Their work is not just an example of a successful career; it is design and life rolled into one, in the sense that they design who they are.
